'Ethan Frome’ opens at Shakespeare & Co.

"Ethan Frome," the Berkshire classic adapted from an Edith Wharton novella by Dennis Krausnick, will open tomorrow at Shakespeare & Co.

This tragic story was inspired by an actual sledding accident that occurred in Lenox during the time Edith Wharton lived at The Mount. Shakespeare & Co. first produced the play in 1996, and again in 1997. It was part of last year's Wharton Centennial Celebration, for just one performance.

This year's re-mounted production features original cast members Kevin Coleman as Ethan Frome and Elizabeth Aspenlieder as Mattie Silver, directed by Krausnick. Steve Boss and Mary Guzzy join them in the cast.

The play runs through Oct. 26. For tickets, call 637-3353.
